Coming heavily on the Delhi government for its ‘failure on all fronts’, Delhi BJP on Wednesday brought out a ‘chargesheet’ against the government and demanded that the President dismiss it immediately.
According to Vijay Goel, Delhi BJP President, he had sought appointment with Pranab Mukherjee to present the ‘charge sheet’.
Delhi, he alleged, is bearing the shameful tag of rape capital.
According to the chargesheet, Delhi government failed in the implementation of law and order as well as supply of power and water. The Delhi government, alleged Goel, has proved to be a disaster on all fronts. ‘The city residents should not be forced to bear the burden of this misrule, hence we demand immediate dismissal of this government,’ said Goel.
He further added that its shameful that even as the city continues to become increasingly unsafe, the chief minister has done nothing to improve the situation.
Citing the records of National Crime Records Bureau, Goel said out of 53 top cities of the country Delhi has accounted for 17.6 per cent of rape cases, 31 per cent of kidnapping and abduction and 14 per cent of dowry death.
The Delhi BJP president said a delegation of the BJP leaders would meet the president to demand sacking of Sheila Dikshit and her government. He futhter contended that as the law and order in Delhi has been compromised completely, under the constitutional norms this could be reason enough to sack the government. In the five-page chargesheet, the party has flays the Delhi government for lack of safety for women in the city, widespread corruption in the light of CAG report, electricity, water and sewage.
