To start with the process, the party has organised a conclave of RWAs on ‘Budget Par Charcha’ on Saturday to be addressed by Union finance minister Arun Jaitley.
‘We want to send our message to people of Delhi. The conclave is to clear the doubts of people about the budget living in Delhi,’ said Satish Upadhayay, Delhi’s BJP chief.
‘The RWAs have been much sought after groups among political parties in the city as they work closely with citizens. BJP has already used this route to spread message regarding power, water and other issues to citizens during the last assembly polls.
The party also has the backing of a conglomerate of over 1,000 RWAs under the banne ‘Urja’ and its president Sanjay Kaul is general secretary in the party.
Meanwhile, Upadhyay has also expressed his concern over the incidents of eve teasing and crime against girl students. He also demanded the police commissioner BS Bassi to increase number of women police officers in the patrolling during night hours.
‘Besides this, the police should be more vigilant during the arrival and departure time of girl students around all the schools of Delhi’, he added.
Special care should be taken for the girls living in rural areas rehabilitation centers and JJ Clusters.
‘Regular duty of beat constables should be ensured at these places’, he said.
