BJP out to politicise every issue: Congress

A day after Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticised Congress-led Delhi government’s ambitious food safety programme, Congress on Sunday slammed BJP and said it would prove suicidal for the BJP. Parliamentary secretary to the chief minister and Congress Legislative Party spokesperson, Mukesh Sharma, said BJP cannot support any clean initiative, as it is fully eclipsed by the grafts, scams and corruption.

Sharma said, ‘The BJP is the only party whose national president was caught on the camera accepting bribe money and another president has been facing allegations of corruption, levelled recently. The Dilli Annashri Yojana has started providing benefits to the poor already.

Delhi government launched its Dilli Annashri Yojana, which was inaugurated by UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi on Saturday. It envisages a humble support of Rs 600 per month to the needy families, who are not covered under the ambit of PDS. Congress leaders said by opposing this welfare scheme, the BJP stands exposed.
Sharma said the BJP has always been taking care of seven per cent rich and affulent persons, and it is not concerned with the 93 per cent Aam Admi  and middle-class families. The government officials said the Delhi government scheme is the first of its kind in the country, and it has been linked to Aadhar, hence leaves no scope of any corruption and irregularity.
