BJP MP quits party in Himachal Pradesh

Sitting Lok Sabha MP from Kangra Rajan Sushant on Friday resigned from the BJP and also from his seat, saying he was ‘disgusted’ with the party.

In his resignation letter former Himachal Pradesh minister said that atmosphere in BJP ‘was so disgusting that he could no longer stay in the party and was resigning with a heavy heart’.

The BJP MP went to the party office in Delhi and gave his resignation to the office secretary as party chief Rajnath Singh was not present there.

Later, he told reporters that the alleged corruption of former chief minister P K Dhumal and his MP son Anurag Thakur ‘has crossed all limits’.

‘Even the party general secretary J P Nadda and former Union minister Shanta Kumar were shielding them,’ he said. ‘In such a situation, it is difficult for any person believing in honesty and morality to stay in the party and if Dr Shyama Prasad Mukerjee and Deen Dayal Upadhayaya were alive, they too have quit the BJP’, he alleged and said he would expose the corruption of BJP.
