A group of city BJP leaders along with their supporters and priests is on a holy trip of Mata Vaishnav Devi to seek the goddesse’s blessings for party’s ticket.
According to sources, some more leaders are planning religious trips to renew their appeals for a ticket with promises of gifts to their trusted deities.
The group, consisting of over 40 people, departed from the city to Jammu for the pilgrimage on Monday night and is expected to reach Delhi by Friday morning. The group includes at least half a dozen sitting councillors, a former councillor, a priest and several other party workers. ‘We often come to Mata Vaishnav Devi to get her blessings for our future endeavours. The pilgrimage, however, has nothing to do with the elections,’ Yogender Chandolia told Millennium Post over phone from Jammu.
