BJP gears up to counter Nitish

After Janata Dal (United) parted ways with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on the elevation of Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi as the chairman of election campaign committee, the BJP has now started its preparation for the Modi’s rally in Patna in October. In an effort to counter Bihar chief minister’s Janata Durbar on every Monday, central leaders from Bihar will now be conducting weekly press conferences in the state.

BJP leaders like Shahnawaz Hussain, Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Ravi Shankar Prasad will now hold weekly press conferences in the state. Also the BJP has started mobilising its cadre on the assembly seats in which it did not contest during the 2010 assembly elections. The BJP had contested in 102 seats out of the 243 seats in the state, the party had won 91 seats.

Apart from initiating the ground work, the party has also planned a state wide tour of former deputy chief minister of Bihar Sushil Modi. The party plans to cover the entire state before the rally planned for Narendra Modi in October.

On Thursday BJP general secretary Rajiv Pratap Rudy held a press conference in Patna, where he attacked the Bihar chief minister.

'Kumar is suffering from NaMonia and getting bouts of fever at frequent intervals merely at the thought of Modi. Why are you (Kumar) so scared of Modi? ... We are really concerned over the deteriorating health of the chief minister due to ‘NaMonia’ and advise him to see a good doctor' said  Rudy.

The BJP leader also attacked  Kumar for his new-found love for Congress and taking its support during the trust vote in the assembly on Wednesday. 'Nitish Kumar says that he did not compromise with his conscience when it came to taking a decision to split from the NDA ... We are of the firm belief that he did make a compromise by aligning with Congress and independents for the sake of power,' alleged Rudy.
