BJP Lok Sabha MP from Gorakhpur (UP) Yogi Adityanath expressed his displeasure over former VHP leader and another BJP ideologue, Sadhhvi Prachi’s ‘Muslim-free India’ remark. “The party doesn't express this view. It is her (Sadhvi Prachi's) personal opinion," Yogi told Millennium Post.
Earlier, Sadhhvi stirred a controversy by saying that she is working on to get rid of Muslims from the country. A video surfaced in which she was addressing a rally in Roorkee, where 32 people were injured in a clash between two communities, over the forcible evacuation of a scrap dealer's shop.
“Now that we have achieved the mission of making a Congress-free India, it is time to make the country Muslim-free," Prachi had said in the video. Earlier the right-wing ideologue voiced her views on 'Love jihad'. But the VHP disowned her publicly, and the BJP confirmed that she is no longer with the party. BJP National Spokesperson Sambit Patra said that she is no longer a Rajya Sabha MP.
Even the party president Amit Shah asserted in Lucknow, earlier this month in a party meeting that, "The party doesn't endorse such fringe elements. It is not party's view. It is her personal view."
