BJP asks Badal to take action against perpetrators

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has condemned the attack on RSS leader Jagdish Gagneja, who is in a critical condition after being shot at by some bike-borne assailants. BJP, which is a part of the ruling alliance Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in Punjab, has asked the Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal to take stern action against the perpetrators.

BJP’s Punjab unit has said that “Punjab is in shambolic state and one after one acts of crime by organised mafia of Punjab hints at political patronage of these organised criminals groups.”
The party has also claimed that this not the first time, about a month ago also a shooting incident had taken place outside a  RSS shakha in Ludhiana.

Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shwait Malik said, “attack on a social organization like RSS could be an attempt by by anti-social elements to destablise the social harmony in the border state of Punjab ahead of the coming Assembly elections.“Chief Minister should take the attack very seriously. He should be extra careful and take stringent action those who are behind this incident.” Malik added.

Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal, National Secretary of BJP Kisan Morcha pointed out on Saturday that the series of deadly acts previously carried out by the mafia in Punjab in which Mata Chand Kaur of Namdhari samaj was shot from close range at bhaini Sahib and a few weeks later a convoy of Sikh preacher Sant Dhandriwale was attacked.

Grewal said that, “security of life in Punjab is at lowest and it doesn't look like it will get better until the coming elections.” BJP also asked state Home Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal to come forward and take responsibility.

Meanwhile, BJP core committee met. Vijay Sampla, Prabhat Jha, Kamal Sharma and all three ministers will meet CM on Monday.
