BJP aims to induct 15 lakh members ahead of polls

The Delhi unit of the BJP is targeting induction of 15 lakh new members ahead of the forthcoming assembly polls. It was announced at a workshop organized for party leaders, cells and office bearers here on Tuesday.

Inaugurating the workshop, Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay invited Delhiites to become member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by calling on 1800-266-2020.

Party leader Prabhat Jha, who is also in-charge of Delhi, asked the district presidents to put up hoardings and banners all over the city to attract maximum number of people to join the party. With the dissolution of the Delhi Assembly, elections are likely to be held in Delhi soon.

The party has claimed to have already added 3.5 lakh members through missed calls and online enrolment since the start of the membership drive. ‘We have waived-off the minimum fee for membership and now it is free,’ Upadhayay. , Delhi BJP president.

Meanwhile, Delhi BJP on Monday had announced to constitute ‘special cells’ to organise talks on the achievement of government of Narendra Modi’s government at the Centre.

The Delhi BJP chief also called upon party’s traders cell to give a clear message to their counterparts  that BJP would ensure their issues are addressed, if it comes to power. Upadhayay on Monday, also asked the South MCD to provide Rs 20 lakh to every councillor to ensure sanitation services in each of its 104 wards.  He, however did not comment on how the civic body will arrange for Rs 20.8 crore to be incurred on the projcet. Sources have informed that the additional funds will be provided by Centre, taking into consideration upcoming assembly polls.
