Bizman shot at, motorcycle robbed

 According to the police, the businessman identified as Rajender Chhabra suffered a bullet injury on his leg. Police have registered a case of attempt to murder and robbery and are trying to identify the accused.

The incident took place at around 9.30 pm when Chhabra had shut down his shop in the Hastsal market area. He was heading back home in his two-wheeler and had kept his day’s earnings in the dickey of the vehicle when some unidentified men approached him and started firing at him.

Police said that when Chhabra tried to resist and in turn raised an alarm, the accused shot at him. While one of them shot at Chhabra’s foot due to which he fell on the ground, the other man in the meanwhile got off from his bike and fled with Chhabra’s two-wheeler. Locals informed the police after which Chhabra was rushed to Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital.

Doctors told police that Chhabra’s condition is stable.According to the police, they suspect the role of an insider as the accused had come with intentions to rob the shop owner of his two-wheeler. Meanwhile, police have registered a case of attempt to murder.

 Police are scanning CCTV footage of the area to establish the identity of the accused. They are also questioning locals and eye-witnesses to establish the exact sequence of events.
