A day after the murder of a 38-year-old businessman at his farmhouse in South Delhi’s Chattarpur area, Delhi Police have widened their probe to reach the whereabouts of the main conspirator who is suspected to be the deceased’s former domestic help.
During the wee hours of Thursday, five robbers managed to barge into the two-storeyed farmhouse of Rohan Gupta after sedating the security guard and Gupta’s elderly parents with chloroform. When Gupta resisted the robbery bid, the robbers strangled him and later sedated him with chloroform.
However, all the five accused persons — Ajay, Vipin, Vinod, Shivnath and Vinod Kumar were arrested from the DLF farmhouse area. During interrogation, they have given some clues about the main conspirator who is well aware about Gupta’s farmhouse and the valuables available inside the house.
Investigating officials privy to investigation have not ruled out the role of the former domestic help of Gupta as he was sacked by him during Diwali and Gupta had not paid him the salary. Teams have been sent to Bihar to investigate about the five accused who have been arrested.
Also, the former domestic help also hails from Bihar. Raids are being carried out, the official said. Meanwhile, the DLF farmhouse area has over 100 farmhouses and to increase the security in the area, the senior police officials of South Delhi have asked the Chief Security Officer of the area to increase the number of CCTV cameras and to keep a vigil on the conditions of the already installed cameras.
