Bizman killed by gang of robbers in south Delhi farmhouse

He was strangled as he resisted. The incident took place on intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. All the accused have been arrested and the robbed cash and jewellery recovered.
At around 12.15 am, the robbers managed to enter the premises of the two-storied farmhouse through a window hoodwinking the security guard deployed at the main gate of the colony. The security guard of the farmhouse – Bharat Singh (45) was immediately overpowered by the robbers and sedated with chloroform.
The robbers then entered the farmhouse and finding nothing on the ground floor they went to the first floor. The robbers then encountered the elderly couple – Krishan (65) and his wife Reshmi (62) who were sleeping in their room. They sedated them too. However, the chloroform did not work on Reshmi who pretended to be in an unconscious state till the time, they escaped. Speaking to Millennium Post, Reshmi said : “To save our lives, I closed my eyes to fool the robbers.”
After sedating them, they went to Rohan Gupta’s room where he tried to resist the robbery bid. They strangled Gupta and also poured chloroform on him. Carrying cash and jewellery, two of the robbers went out of the farmhouse to check whether everything was safe. In the meantime, Gupta’s neighbour –Aman Sethi, who is a nephew of Ponty Chadha returned to his farmhouse. After he went inside, his driver noticed that all the lights of Gupta’s farmhouse were on. Suspecting something amiss, he went near the main gate and spotted two of the robbers.
The driver quizzed them about their identities, on which they said that they had come for some fitting purpose in the farmhouse. When the driver raised more questions, they managed to flee after informing other accomplices. Seeing them flee, at around 2.18 am, the driver made a call to the police control room and informed Sethi too. In the meantime, the remaining robbers also fled.
On reaching the spot, the police team immediately deployed cops at all the entry and exit points of the DLF farmhouse. All five accused, identified as Ajay, Vipin, Vinod, Shivnath and Vinod Kumar, were arrested with the robbed items. Police recovered mobile phones, gold chains and foreign currency coins from them.
“A case of murder and dacoity has been registered and the five arrested persons are being interrogated,” Additional DCP (South) Nupur Prasad said. Gupta was a divorcee and his ex-wife stays with their son in Gurgaon. Gupta was an exporter of hosiery items and had his factory in Noida.
During investigation, the role of Gupta’s former domestic came under scanner as he was sacked by Gupta last year and was not given his salary. The cops are also questioning the staff members of Gupta. Meanwhile, the previous crime record of the gang members are also being scanned, the official added.
