The much hyped ‘indefinite dharna’ by expelled AAP MLA Vinod Kumar Binny at Jantar Mantar was called off on Monday within four hours due to dwindling crowd and divide among protesters at Jantar Mantar. Meanwhile, the rebel leader in an attempt to pull off a face-saver on his inglorious exit from the dharna, said that he was giving a 10-day deadline to Delhi government to fulfill its promises.
‘We are giving 10-day time to the Delhi government. If the demands are not met, we will launch a movement against the AAP,’ Binny said while calling off his hunger strike. Earlier in the day, Binny met lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung and apprised him of the ongoing situation.
Binny said, ‘I think the AAP wants the government to fall, as they are scared that they would not be able to fulfill the promises they have made to people, and they are trying to run away from their responsibilities.’ ‘Lt Governor has assured that due action will be taken against those who have violated the law, irrespective of their positions,’ he told reporters.
