Biker killed in motorcycle-bus crash in Jafrabad

A 25-year-old man died when his motorcycle was hit by a private bus in North-east Delhi’s Jafrabad area late Saturday night, police said.

The deceased was identified as Afsar. Efforts are on to apprehend the errant bus driver, who is on the run, police said.

The police said the accident took place around 11:15pm when the speeding private bus rammed into the motorcycle. The motorcycle hit a divider and Afsar fell a meters away from his vehicle. The bus driver managed to flee, said a police officer.

Locals called the police, who took Afsar to the Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, where he was declared brought dead. His body will be handed over to his family after the post-mortem examination.

A case of rash and negligent driving causing death has been registered against the bus driver at the Jafrabad police station.
