Bihar rape case: State women rights panel slaps notice on top cop

Taking suo-moto cognizance of the report, women panel chairperson Justice Bilal Nazaki said, “The family of the victim is living under fear and trauma because of the threat they are getting. The matter appears to be very serious.” The panel has directed East Champaran SP to submit a detailed report by Monday.
Meanwhile, Samiullah the main accused in the case, surrendered before the police in Chatauni locality of Motihari town. The minor was allegedly picked up by prime accused Samiullah who raped her and made a video clip on June 12.
Raids are on to nab the other accused. Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh met family members of the victim and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and sought action against cops responsible for negligence in registering FIR and delay in medical examination of the victim.
