Bihar: Deendayal Upadhyay’s statue damaged

A statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay installed at a roundabout in Bihar’s Munger town was found partially damaged prompting BJP to attack Nitish Kumar government over law and order issue.

Munger Superintendent of Police Barun Kumar Sinha on Saturday said that some unidentified anti-socials partially damaged the statue of the Jan Sangh leader installed at Pandit Deen Dayal chowk in the town in the early hours on Friday. The umbrella over Deendayal Upadhyay’s statue and the name plate of the Jan Sangh veteran were found to be partially damaged, the SP said.

An FIR has been registered with the town police station against unknown persons and investigation is on, the SP said.

BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi attacked Nitish government in the wake Munger incident which he alleged was enacted by mischief mongers who were part of procession by members of a particular 
community.
