Covid is my first priority, says Mamata after TMC's landslide win

Kolkata: Stating that her top priority was Covid management after winning a landslide victory in the state, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chairperson Mamata Banerjee on Sunday said the victory of her party had saved the country's unity and communal harmony.
"Covid is my first priority. We will work on this immediately. We will not hold an elaborate oath-taking ceremony. We will overcome this storm. We will distribute free vaccine doses among all. We request the Centre to distribute free vaccine doses to all. If this does not happen, I will sit on a dharna in front of the Gandhi Statue in Kolkata," Banerjee told reporters.
She said there would not be any elaborate swearing-in ceremony in view of the pandemic and urged her party workers not to take out victory processions. Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary would be observed without procession.
