Death toll in Lahore blast reaches 9

Lahore: The major suicide blast in Lahore on Wednesday night have resulted to the rise in the death toll to 9 adding to the severe damage to the police check post, a police officer said.
Deputy Inspector General of Lahore Police Haider Ashraf confirmed that the toll rose two of the injured, five policemen and four civilians were all succumbed to injuries.
As reported by Xinhua news agency, over 20 persons suffered injuries and claimed the Pakistani Taliban group responsible for the massive attack.
As confirmed by Asraf, the police were checking the people who assembled to attend the country's biggest religious worship when suddenly a suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laden vest near a group of policemen at a check post in Raiwind Town late on Wednesday.
Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attack.
A search operation is underway by the police and security personnel and high alert has been announced in the province.
