Khalistani extremist Arsh Dalla likely arrested in Canada
New Delhi: Ontario authorities in Canada have reportedly arrested Khalistani extremist Arshdeep Singh Gill, alias Arsh Dalla, following a shooting incident in Milton, sources claimed on Sunday. Dalla, a designated terrorist in India, is believed to have been apprehended by Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) after a violent altercation on October 28.
According to an HRPS statement issued on October 29, two men were arrested for “discharging firearms with intent.” The suspects had sought medical attention at a Guelph hospital, where one was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and later discharged. The identities of the arrested individuals remain undisclosed, though sources allege one of them is Dalla.
Dalla, associated with the banned Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF), has been linked to terror operations under Hardeep Singh Nijjar, another designated terrorist killed in June 2023. The HRPS confirmed that the suspects, a 25-year-old from Halton Hills and a 28-year-old from Surrey, British Columbia, were in custody pending a bail hearing. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
In a related development, Punjab Police announced the arrest of two shooters from Dalla’s gang in Kharar, Mohali. Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that Anmolpreet Singh alias Vishal and Navjot Singh alias Neetu were captured in a joint operation involving the state’s special operation cell, the Anti-Gangster Task Force, and Faridkot Police.
The two were allegedly involved in the murder of Sikh activist Gurpreet Singh Hari Nau, who ran a YouTube channel titled ‘Hari Nau Talks’.
Dalla, designated a terrorist by the Union Home Ministry in January 2023, faces multiple charges, including targeted killings, terror financing, and cross-border smuggling of weapons and drugs. He is under investigation by the NIA for crimes intended to destabilise Punjab. The central government invoked the UAPA, classifying Dalla as a terrorist due to his role in promoting terrorism. with agency inputs
