Compete with yourself: PM Modi tells students

New Delhi: At a first of its kind interactive session with students, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented himself as a friend of students, their parents and family members instead of a Prime Minister of the country and complimented them for being "born politicians".
Before taking questions from the students during Pariksha Par Charcha, the PM said that it was his exam today and thanked his teachers for whom he is "still a student". "They inspired me to keep the student alive in me," Modi said.
"Just forget about that I'm a Prime Minister and consider me as a friend of yours; discuss whatever you want," Modi said at the Town Hall session, which was organised by Human Resource Development Ministry at Talkatora Stadium on Friday.
Though at the stadium there were over 2,300 students, the PM said that he was speaking to as many as ten crore people across the country through various platforms to beat the exam stress.
Students from different parts of the country asked questions on the issues of social pressure, time management, comparing one child with other by their performance, parent's high expectations, etc. at the Town Hall session.
On the subject of peer pressure, the Prime Minister spoke about the importance of "Anuspardha" (competing with oneself), rather than "Pratispardha" (competing with others).
In the end, when he was asked by a student if he was prepared for the Lok Sabha elections, the PM said he was confident of passing his "exam next year". "I have the wishes of 125 crore Indians with me," the PM reiterated.
