New Delhi: The Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha proceedings were both adjourned on Tuesday due to disruptions caused by protests from opposition members, with no significant business transacted in either house.

In the Lok Sabha, Speaker Om Birla expressed concern over repeated disruptions and emphasized the need to maintain the dignity of the House. He mentioned that even senior leaders had participated in these disruptions, which was not acceptable. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal called on the opposition to apologize for their behavior. Despite the Speaker's call for a smooth Question Hour, opposition members continued to protest, leading to the adjournment of the House until 12 noon.

Similar disruptions occurred in the Rajya Sabha, where both ruling and opposition MPs raised slogans over various issues. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar, after announcing the receipt of notices for discussion on different matters, pleaded with members to allow the proceedings to continue. However, the uproar continued, with Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh raising concerns about bomb threats to schools in Delhi, while ruling BJP MPs pushed to discuss the alleged links between George Soros and the Congress party. Amid the ongoing ruckus, Dhankhar adjourned the session until 12:00 noon.

Both Houses have been marred by protests and disruptions since the beginning of the winter session, with the opposition demanding discussions on various issues, including the Adani case and violence in Sambhal, and allegations against opposition leaders. The first week of the session saw little business due to these disruptions, while the second week was marked by similar disturbances.
