5 police personnel killed in Maoist attack in Jharkhand's Seraikela

At least 5 police personnel including 2 sub-inspectors and 3 jawans were killed in a Maoist attack at Seraikela on Tuesday evening, around 6.30 pm, police said.

The incident occurred when a police patrolling team reached the weekly market at Kukdu Bazar under Tiruldih police station limits in the district. A Maoist squad then attacked the police team.

Some police personnel are said to be injured in the incident.

Confirming the incident, additional director general (operations ) ML Meena said that rescue and relief operations were being conducted.

Earlier on May 28, at least 26 security per5 police personnel killed in Maoist attack in Jharkhand's Seraikelasonnel of central police force and state police were injured after Maoists triggered a series of IED blasts early morning in Rai Sindri hills under Kuchai police station limits of the district.
