3 including 2 Chinese engineers charred to death in Gurugram
Gurugram: Three persons including two Chinese nationals were charred to death on Sunday afternoon after an oven on which they were conducting sub welding work exploded all of sudden due to short circuit. The deceased have been identified as Xi Ji Yan, Zhang Yang and Vicky who was a resident from Sohna. The incident occurred at Pusilin Biotech factory in Rojka Meo industrial area on the outskirts of Gurugram city.
The mishap occurred at around 3:00 pm on Sunday afternoon after reports emerged of a massive fire in the factory due to equipment exploding. After battling more than two hours with six fire tenders being pressed into service the charred bodies of two Chinese nationals and Sohna resident was recovered by the law enforcement officials.
"Based on our knowledge the fire was caused due to the short circuit in the oven. The three persons were carrying out the sub-welding work when the mishap occurred. We have sent the bodies for post- mortem and investigating any wrongdoing," said Inspector Chanderbhan, the Station House officer of Rojka Meo police station.
"Our team is in touch with the Chinese embassy and making sure that all processes are made simpler for the bodies to be transported back if required," added the official. As of now, the Gurugram police have not made any arrests.
