Bhujbal case: ED attaches developer’s property

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), probing a money-laundering case against <g data-gr-id="14">former</g> minister and senior NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, on Wednesday attached property worth Rs 17.35 crore belonging to developer KS Chamankar.
He is one of the accused in the case and associated with Bhujbal. The attached properties <g data-gr-id="13">includes</g> five flats in Mumbai, a farmhouse out of the city and fix deposits. <g data-gr-id="12">An officials</g> stated that the ED is yet to record Bhujbal’s statement in the case and will decide about it at <g data-gr-id="11">appropriate</g> time.
The agency is probing the case focusing on the trial of Rs 800 crore that Chamankar and his business associate had got after they sold a redevelopment rights of RTO land in Andheri (West) to a construction company. In 2005, the PWD ministry, then led by Bhujbal, had awarded the development rights of a slum on the Andheri RTO land to Chamankar without inviting tenders.
