Woman found dead in waiting room of NJP Station

Siliguri: Panic spread at New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station on Tuesday morning after the body of an unidentified woman was recovered from the station’s waiting room. According to sources, GRP and RPF personnel received information that a woman passenger had suddenly fallen ill inside the waiting area.

Rail police officers immediately rushed to the spot with a medical team.

Upon examination, the doctor declared the woman dead. The body was later brought out of the station.

During the initial investigation, police did not find any train ticket, luggage tag or identity card with the deceased, making it difficult to ascertain her identity. The body has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination.

Efforts are underway to identify the woman and determine the cause of her death. Further investigation is also
