Two killed in road accident

Kolkata: Two persons were killed and several injured after an SUV and a bus collided head-on, at Fulia of Shantipur in Nadia, on Sunday.

According to sources, the bus was going towards Kolkata and the SUV towards Krishnanagar. At Prafullanagar area, the bus collided head-on with the SUV and as a result, two passengers of the SUV suffered critical injuries. They were rushed to Ranaghat Sub-Divisional Hospital where doctors declared them brought dead. On the other hand, several passengers also sustained minor injuries. It is alleged that the bus had violated the lane and was moving along the wrong lane in order to avoid traffic congestion. Passengers reportedly alleged that the bus driver did not bother to hear the passengers and drove the vehicle in rash manner.
