State BJP leaders insulting Bengal: Mamata, Abhishek

Kolkata: Ahead of Durga Puja, Trinamool Congress (TMC) chairperson and state’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took a dig at the state BJP unit, asking it not to insult Bengal in their bid to insult her as a political opponent.
Training her guns at the BJP through an article published in the Puja edition of the party’s mouthpiece ‘Jaago Bangla’, Mamata outlined that it is high time the BJP shuns narrow-minded politics. She requested the saffron brigade to ensure that in their alleged attempt to insult her they do not end up showing Bengal in a poor light.
She is of the opinion that it ought not to be forgotten that politics must not be the be-all and end-all of everything and that the state and its people and culture must not bear the brunt of cynical political motives.
Banerjee, earlier too, had on several occasions mentioned that let politics remain confined to its designated avenues but personal attacks on political grounds must not spill over to target the state and its people.
Mamata had time and again took pride in the fact that Durga Puja was given the title and respect of being an intangible heritage by the UNESCO despite the saffron brigade on several occasions having launched attacks at the Trinamool Congress, accusing it of not allowing the majority to celebrate the festival in Bengal. On the other hand, through another article TMC national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, has highlighted that 2024 will see the end of the BJP government and that India shall be free of hate and sectarianism politics. He was also vocal about the Central fund blockade for Bengal and reiterated that the fight shall continue till the poor get their wages for the work they have done.
He recalled his experiences during the ‘Nabajowar’ campaign in the run up to the Bengal Panchayat elections and asserted that great injustice is being done to the poor of Bengal by the Centre.
Highlighting the recent dharna led by him both in Delhi and Kolkata, Abhishek believes that the deprived beneficiaries will get justice
and that it was sinister of
the BJP-led-Centre to have stopped funds for all districts of Bengal under 100 days job schemes on the pretext of an alleged corruption in one or two districts. Abhishek is scheduled to distribute clothes to the poor in his Lok Sabha constituency (Diamond Harbour) on October 16. The event will take place at Sarisha High School ground at 2 pm and at Mashat Khajerpole Hosipital ground at 3 pm.
