Show-cause notices issued to 2 doctors at Dinhata Sub-Divisional Hospital
Cooch Behar: The Superintendent of Dinhata Sub-Divisional Hospital, Dr. Ranjit Mandal, has issued show-cause notices to two doctors, Dr Latiful Sheikh and Dr Devjit Bhowmik, for allegedly arriving late to their duties. Dr Mandal confirmed that the notices were issued based on complaints regarding their delayed attendance.
The incident gained attention during a hospital inspection on Saturday, led by Trinamool leaders, including vice-chairman of Dinhata Municipality Sabir Saha Chaudhary and senior
Trinamool Congress leader Bishu Dhar.
During the visit, the leaders found that the doctors had not arrived on time, prompting an altercation with the doctor on duty.
The leaders warned that further action would be taken against doctors who fail to adhere to their schedules.
As a result, the hospital superintendent issued show-cause notices to the two doctors on Sunday. Minister Udayan Guha expressed support for the inspection, stating, “Dinhata Sub-Divisional Hospital offers services that are better than many private hospitals in the area.
However, it is concerning that some doctors are sending patients to private facilities. The Trinamool Congress leaders’ actions are commendable.”
