‘Sebaashray’ health camps kick off in Falta Assembly Constituency

Kolkata: After setting a new benchmark by reaching out to over 2.6 lakh people in just 10 days under Diamond Harbour Assembly Constituency (AC), the second chapter ‘Sebaashray’ health camps kicked off in Falta Assembly Constituency on Sunday.
Around 40 camps in Falta registered a footfall of 11,452 on the day 1 while 6,580 patients were treated in those health camps. Around 5,588 people were given medicines and 339 referrals were made. The total number of registrations since inception has reached 2,87,681 till Sunday.
Diamond Harbour MP, Abhishek Banerjee who started this initiative in a post on X said: “After achieving a historic milestone in Diamond Harbour AC, the second chapter of #Sebaashray has kicked off with immense energy and dedication in Falta AC. In just 11 DAYS, we have touched the lives of an extraordinary 2,87,681 PEOPLE through #Sebaashray health camps. Maintaining the momentum, we served 11,452 more people on the FIRST DAY of the second phase in FALTA AC today. This is just the beginning—our commitment to serving humanity knows no limits!”
The initiative was rolled out on January 2 with an expectation of reaching out to 23 lakh people through health camps where doctor’s consultation and diagnostic tests are being provided free-of-cost. The programme was concluded at Diamond Harbour AC on Saturday and it will be followed in Falta, Budge Budge, Satgachia, Bishnupur, Maheshtala and Metiaburuj.
In the last five days, 280-300 follow-up camps will be held across these constituencies. The camps have a dedicated desk for referral to 12 state government hospitals and there is a team for providing assistance for admission, when a patient is referred.
