‘Sebaashray’ extends healthcare services to rural populace

Kolkata: The ‘Sebaashray’ heal camp initiative of Diamond Harbour MP Abhishek Banerjee is now extending its medical healthcare services to the rural populace in the villages.
It was learnt that a resident of Kabira village, Diamond Harbour shared her experience in one of the ‘Sebaashray’ health camps held near her home. She said: “Since we don’t have any hospitals nearby, we were glad to find a Sebaashray camp set up near our home. The doctors here are providing proper treatment and we’ve even received expensive medicines for free. We’re extremely grateful for this and I thank Abhishek Banerjee for this service.” Posting their stories on TMC’s official X account on Thursday, the party wrote: “At #Sebaashray, it’s more than just treating illnesses—it’s about offering healthcare that’s accessible, compassionate, and truly transformative. This woman visited our Health Camp and received care that went beyond a simple check-up. It was a heartfelt experience, one that made her feel seen and valued…”
Abhishek, who is also TMC national general secretary, has stressed that ‘Sebaashray’ is not about numbers but the people behind them. In the three weeks since its launch, the initiative has already reached over 4.3 lakh individuals and transformed their lives by bringing essential medical services to their doorsteps.
Launched on January 2, ‘Sebaashray’ was able to identify critical cases and referred them to advanced healthcare facilities for specialised treatment. Recently, it facilitated a critical heart surgery for a nine-year-old after he was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition at one of the ‘Sebaashray’ health camps.
