Body recovered in Fulbari

Siliguri: Body of an unidentified man was recovered from the side of the National Highway in Fulbari. On Thursday, passers-by saw the dead body lying in the Jiaganj area near Fulbari on the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway. Thereafter, the incident was reported to the NJP police station. The police recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.

PROTESTERS Demand Arrest of SFI Activists Following Attack on TMCP Procession

Jalpaiguri: TMCP leaders and supporters staged a protest in front of the Jalpaiguri Kotwali police station on Thursday, demanding the arrest of SFI workers who had attacked a TMCP procession. On Wednesday evening, the Jalpaiguri TMCP had organized a protest march against the assault on Trinamool Chhatra Parishad leader Trinankur Bhattacharya at Jadavpur University. It is alleged that supporters of SFI brickbatted the procession. TMCP has criticized the lack of arrests in the incident. Meanwhile, the Jalpaiguri Kotwali police station has apprehended 5 CPIM leaders in connection with the incident. The Jalpaiguri court denied them bail on Thursday.
