Mahavir Jayanti: April 3 declared as holiday

kolkata: The state government has revised its earlier declared holiday for Mahavir Jayanti.

The State Finance department in a notification has declared April 3 (Monday) as a holiday instead of April 4 as announced earlier.

The state government employees have holidays on April 1 and 2, being Saturday and Sunday. So with April 3 declared a holiday, they will be getting three days holiday at a stretch. Mahavir Jayanti is one of the most important religious festivals in Jainism.
