Low visibility: Flight ops shut for 2 hours at Kolkata airport

Kolkata: The Airports Authority of India (AAI), Eastern Region, on Wednesday shared that flight operations at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) airport were stopped for roughly two hours in the morning due to low visibility while some flights were diverted and departures got delayed due to the same.

According to the data shared by AAI, the flight operations were shut from 4:18 am to 6:16 am. However, low visibility procedures were implemented from 4:38 am. As far the operational impact was concerned, three domestic and one international flight were diverted. 18 domestic and two international flights were delayed in terms of departure. Arrivals were not delayed.

Additionally, AAI shared that the movement of the Governor to Farakka, Murshidabad by BSF helicopter was cancelled.
