LIC grants about Rs 38L for ICU equipment at Vivekananda Hosp

Kolkata: Vivekananda Hospital & Research Institute dedicated 10 beds for rendering free-of-cost treatment for poor/underprivileged cancer-affected chemotherapy recipients and poor thalassaemia patients. They will serve the people at a nominal cost, particularly to the economically-weaker section of the people of the adjacent areas and provide specialised treatment to patients who have life threatening illnesses or need close observation and advanced life support.

The LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation has sanctioned Rs 38,01,000 towards the purchase of ICU equipment and the installation of a lift from the ground floor to the first floor. The ICU equipment include ECG machine with 3 channel ECG recorder, multipara monitor, syringe pump with LCD display, infusion volumetric pump with LCD display and biphasic defibrillator.

Addressing the event, JS Tolia, Zonal Head, LIC India, Eastern Zone, highlighted LIC’s achievements since 1956 and its commitment to achieving ‘Insurance for All’ by 2047. He lauded Vivekananda Hospital & Research Institute for its dedicated service to the community since 1962.
