Jan 14: Circular Railway trains to be regulated
Kolkata: Circular Railway train services will be regulated on January 14 for the ‘Makar Sankranti’ holy bath, as announced by Eastern Railways’ Sealdah Division. This decision has been made following a request from the state administration to manage the crowd effectively and ensure the safety of devotees participating in the religious observances. The regulatory measures will be in effect from 4 am to 3 pm on January 14. As part of the adjustments, seven Circular Railway locals trains will be cancelled. In addition, four trains will be short terminated at Kolkata Station, while another four will originate from the same station.
One train will be short terminated at Barasat. Additionally, one train will be short terminated at Ballygunge Station, while another train will originate from the same station.
Several trains will also be diverted to alternate routes. One local train will be diverted via the Kankurgachi Road Junction-Ballygunge route to Majherhat, while another will be diverted and short terminated at Ballygunge.
Additionally, another train will originate from Ballygunge and operate via the Ballygunge Junction-Kankurgachi Road route.
