Entally: Civic volunteer held for molesting woman gets bail

Kolkata: A civic volunteer, Santosh Lal Prasad, was arrested by the Entally Police on charges of attempted molestation after allegedly trying to assault a woman in Shambhu Lane. Police say that Prasad, in an intoxicated state, entered the woman’s home and attempted to molest her.

The victim screamed for help, alerting nearby residents who rushed to the scene. They immediately contacted the police and a formal complaint was filed at Entally Police Station. Based on the complaint and the woman’s statement, authorities swiftly apprehended Prasad.

Prasad, a civic volunteer involved in community service, is now facing serious accusations that have shocked the local community. Residents expressed disbelief that someone serving in a trusted role could be involved in such an incident.

The police have assured that they are investigating the case thoroughly and will ensure justice for the victim.

Prasad has been charged with attempted molestation and other relevant offenses under BNS. The civic volunteer, was produced in court on Sunday and was granted bail.
