ED raids I-PAC offices in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Delhi

Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted fresh raids at three offices of the Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Delhi, in connection with the coal scam case on Thursday.

On Thursday, the ED officials searched several premises linked to the I-PAC, which reportedly include the residence of one of the co-founders, Rishi Raj Singh. As the I-PAC provides political consultancy to the Trinamool Congress, the raids conducted on Thursday have triggered a controversy, just about three weeks ahead of the Assembly elections 2026.

It may be mentioned that on January 8, ED had searched the office of I-PAC, located in the Godrej Waterside building in Salt Lake Sector V and the residence of the firm’s co-founder, Pratik Jain. After receiving the information, Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee went to both places and left with some files.

Banerjee then had alleged that those were her party’s documents containing election strategy and other valuable information. She further alleged that the ED had conspired to snatch them.

Over the move by the Trinamool Congress supremo, a conflict started with the ED. Multiple cases regarding the issue were filed in the Calcutta High Court and the Supreme Court, which are still going on.
