Kolkata: Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi on Saturday issued instructions to deal swiftly and sternly with persons carrying on undesirable activities in the Duare Sarkar (Government at Doorstep) outreach camps, including the sale of application forms, charging for filling up forms etc. Districts were asked to ensure basic amenities in the camps for citizens’ convenience and to ensure a festive atmosphere in the camps.

He reiterated that the key goal of the 6th edition of Duare Sarkar which kicks off on April 1 is to reach every household by holding booth-level camps and to deliver services under the 33 schemes selected for all eligible citizens of the state.

Nearly one lakh outreach camps are being organised for receiving applications and a similar number of camps will be held to deliver services at the convenience and comfort of the citizens of the state. Both static and mobile camps will be held.

Around 34 per cent of camps scheduled will be held in mobile mode focusing on far-flung and inaccessible areas.

Dwivedi held a video conference meeting to review and take stock of preparatory arrangements made by nodal departments and districts for the ensuing Duare Sarkar and Paray Samadhan campaign scheduled from April 1 to 20.

As per directions by the Chief Secretary, control rooms are to be started by March 31 and wide publicity of the control room numbers is to be done. Suitable and appropriate responses are expected for each call made to the control rooms.

All SOPs, including a general SOP – for managing, setting up and conducting the camps, an implementation SOP for ensuring service delivery within the deadline of April 20 and a communication plan to ensure publicity of the camps and schemes, have been shared with the KMC / districts.

The officers of the local level administration have also gone through the same for familiarisation and strict compliance with state government instructions.

SOPs for the 33 schemes under which services will be delivered have also been shared. Training and orientation have already been carried out. The officers of the district administration were instructed to convene meetings of the task forces at all levels for ensuring coordination of all departments.

Attendees included all heads of concerned departments and senior officers of the state government appointed as observers for districts / areas of districts for Duare Sarkar and the commissioner Kolkata Municipal Corporation and District Magistrates with their teams. Other key officials from the departments and districts also attended the meeting.
