Dev projs worth Rs 8 cr to be undertaken

Cooch Behar: The Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad (ZP) has announced the commencement of a series of development projects across the district, with a total budget of approximately Rs 8 crore. These projects, funded by the 15th Finance Commission, have received approval from the State Panchayat and Rural Development department.

The Zilla Parishad is going to install drinking water systems in 90 Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) centres. Moreover, road construction and renovation in various locations, including Gitaldah, Narayanganj Bazar, Kismat Dasgram, Mahishkuchi and Uttar Deochrai are in the pipeline.

“We are embarking on a development drive across Cooch Behar District,” stated Nilu Barman, district engineer of the Zilla Parishad. “These projects, spanning across different sectors, will significantly improve the quality of life for our residents.”

According to the Cooch Behar Zilla Parishad sources, the Zilla Parishad has allocated Rs 15 lakh for the Gitaldah-Narayanganj Bazar road;

Rs 15 lakh for the university toilet block and Rs 31.60 lakh for the paver block road in Kismat Dasgram. Other notable allocations include Rs 30 lakh for the Mahishkuchi road,

Rs 20 lakh for the Uttar Deochrai road and approximately Rs 1 crore for the construction of six high drains. These projects are expected to commence shortly.
