Cooch Behar: 4 held for criminal activities using fake guns

Cooch Behar: Police from the Cooch Behar Kotwali Police Station arrested four individuals for criminal activities using fake guns during a naka checking operation near Cooch Behar city on Thursday.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Bikash Roy (28), Chhotan Karmakar (29), Rezaul Haque (28) and Hazrat Ali (45), all residents of the Rani Bagan Patakura area of Cooch Behar. District Superintendent of Police, Dyutiman Bhattacharya, stated: “Thefts and other crimes have been reported from the city and surrounding areas recently. The police have been conducting operations to nab the culprits, resulting in several arrests. On Thursday morning, the four suspects were apprehended in the Torsa River Embankment (Bader-par) area and two fake guns were recovered from their possession.”

The SP assured that investigations are underway, and efforts will continue to prevent criminal activities in the district. Further arrests may follow based on the outcomes of the inquiry.
