Bombs hurled at TMC candidate in Nadia

A Trinamool Congress (TMC) candidate and her husband suffered injuries after bombs were hurled at their house in Nakashipara of Nadia early on Wednesday morning.

According to police, early on Wednesday morning when the Trinamool Congress candidate of Birpur in Nakashipara identified as Lilufa Bibi and her husband who is also a Trinamool Congress leader were sleeping. Suddenly a few miscreants hurled a few bombs at the house. One of the bombs exploded at the window and Bibi suffered injury on her left hand. Her husband Mortaja also suffered injuries.

Hearing the explosion, people in the neighbourhood came out of their homes and found two motorcycles lying abandoned in front of the house.

The injured duo was rushed to a local hospital from where they were shifted to Shaktigarh Hospital.

It is alleged that Congress-backed goons are behind the attack. Police have started a probe but till Wednesday night no arrest was made.
