Atin Ghosh releases his report card, sets 5-year roadmap

Kolkata: Trinamool Congress candidate from Cossipore–Belgachia, Atin Ghosh, on Wednesday released a report card outlining key works undertaken in his Constituency and a roadmap for the next five years if re-elected.
The Cossipore–Belgachia Constituency comprises six wards of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation—1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6—with a total of 1.70 lakh electors. “I was elected as an MLA of Cossipore–Belgachia for the first time in 2021. With elections scheduled this month, I believe it is my responsibility to present my performance over the
past five years. Hence, I have brought out a report card along with a detailed plan for the next five years,” said Ghosh. He also released ward-specific booklets detailing completed works and future plans for further development.
“During my door-to-door campaign, I will distribute these booklets to every household in the respective wards,” he added. According to the report card, major works include rejuvenation of drainage infrastructure in the Sinthi–Paikpara area to address waterlogging, at an estimated cost of Rs 28 crore from the state Disaster Management department. An additional Rs 10.64 crore has been spent to augment drainage infrastructure across 26 roads, including lanes and bylanes connected to the area. “Around 80–90 per cent of work on these projects has been completed and residents are expected to benefit from this monsoon,” he said. Looking ahead, slum development has been identified as a priority. The state Urban Development and Municipal Affairs department has sanctioned Rs 10.5 crore for the project, which will begin after the elections.
Ghosh also said that the North Suburban Hospital, functioning as an annex of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, will be upgraded into a multispeciality facility and an international-standard stadium will be developed at Tala Park.
