Beery good

Beer Cafe has been one of our favourite haunts for the longest time - but clearly not for the food.

And perhaps those guys overheard us steering clear of the menu and decided to up it all with a whole new menu crafted by chef Sabyasachi Gorai. This new menu of Beer Cafe witnessed a rather happy launch at their flagship store Beer Cafe Biggie at Connaught Place recently.  The transformed menu, designed by Gorai ‘steers towards quality sourced, fresh local ingredients and simple fuss free dishes’. Well, you have to try it to believe it!

The menu comprises of international as well as regional cuisine with a generous dose of comfort food. Drawing inspiration from classic movies and songs some of the dishes have very quirky names- treat yourself to ‘Beer Bites’ that include a Chicken Run (BBQ chicken wings), Hollow Man (Crunchy summer vegetables stuffed rice paper rolls) and Tirchi Topiwale (stuffed mushrooms).

Explaining his take on the menu, Chef Sabyasachi (Saby) said, ‘It’s a great, distinctive menu created keeping in mind the target audience of The Beer Café. It was definitely a challenge to design such interesting dishes. We put in a lot of thought into everything from the basic ingredients to the names and presentation of the dishes. Infact, we’ve avoided the whole white platter look and handpicked tableware from Dilli Haat and Chor Bazaar so guests have an enjoyable time.’The new menu was introduced in style with Saby tossing his favourite recipes BeerCchicken Vindaloo, served with savoury beer crepes and Banana Beeramisu.

Head over for all the new eats and while you are their try their in-house wheat beer Whitlinger - we absolutely loved it!
