He, however, clarified that his statement should not be seen as a threat or arm-twisting but an explanation to the complexity of the development in the city due to multiplicity of government agencies.
“You need a party and a person in power in Delhi who is indeed willing to work along with Central government. The development of Delhi would be possible only when Delhi government and Central government work together,” said Venkaiah Naidu.
“The assistance of Central government in all the matters of Delhi is very essential. The law and order, DDA, New Delhi Municipal Council, MCD are under Central government,” he added. In reply to a question by Millennium Post that if his statement was indirect threat to vote for BJP?
Naidu replied, “I am explaining the complexity of development in the city. We believe in cooperation but what can in do if somebody only believes in dharnas.’ He further added that the people of Delhi should shun such political parties and vote for – development and speedy development only.
“We have prepared a Rs 23,000 crore plan to de-congest Delhi. After its implementation the congestion and traffic problems of Delhi would be a thing of the past’,”he assured. Taking a jibe at Congress, Naidu said that the people gave them chance but they deceived. “Congress wants a hung assembly so that they could negotiate with power hungry AAP. But, people will give two thirds majority to BJP in this election,”he added.
