The Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Thursday instructed Delhi Police to improve intelligence inputs to prevent incidents of communal violence in the city.
Jung issued the direction at a fortnightly meeting attended by Delhi Police commissioner, and special commissioners and joint commissioners of various branches of Delhi Police at Raj Niwas here. He directed police commissioner BS Bassi and other senior police officials to be extra vigilant about the fringe elements to prevent communal violence.
Bassi assured Jung that the police were taking all precautions to prevent such incidents from recurring and have activated ‘Aman Committees’ to keep a check on such incidents. The L-G also expressed concern about the law and order preparations for trade fair.
