In an endeavour to ensure the safety of the tourists/passengers who visit Delhi Airport, Delhi police IGI Unit launched ‘Be aware – Travel Safe’ programme on Thursday at Terminal 3, IGI Airport and at Terminal 1D, domestic airport.
“Under this programme, adequate attention has been paid that the gullible tourist/passenger may not get exploited.
“Be aware — travel safe” pamphlets, posters will be displayed at the prominent places of domestic and international airport for spreading awareness among the commuters/tourists for their safety and security in Delhi,” said Dinesh Kumar Gupta, DCP (IGIA).
Moreover, the stickers will be pasted at the rear portion of seats of cabs so that the tourist/passenger may get access to the information/facilities accorded by the Delhi Police.
“We will set up help desks at both Domestic airport as well as the International airport. Apart from this, in order to ensure a hassle free process for tourists to register an FIR, we will be converting the assistance booth at the T3 into a fully functional police post where they can easily come and register their complaints,” said Gupta.
Meanwhile, there were a number of incidents reported in Delhi airport of taxi drivers misbehaving with the passengers.
Earlier in November, an Ola cab driver was arrested on charges of misbehaving with a female passenger and her daughter.
According to police, the driver took a detour which sparked an argument with the complainant.
