B'desh envoy lauds Modi

Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed <g data-gr-id="9">Muazzem</g> Ali on Friday lauded PM Narendra Modi for strengthening bilateral ties between the countries.

In a media interaction at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club of South Asia (FCCSA) on recent events in Bangladesh and the upcoming visit of Modi to Dhaka, Ali said: “I welcome the initiative taken by the Indian government in resolving the enclave issues and hope that the Teesta-water sharing issue will also <g data-gr-id="14">resolved</g>.”

He added: “Bangladesh enjoys a unique strategic location as a land bridge between South and South Asia, and her coasts offer great opportunities for the development of deep ports in the Bay of Bengal for the benefit of the region. Bangladesh eagerly looks forward to <g data-gr-id="11">welcome</g> the PM to Dhaka,” he added.
