Bangladeshi man gets life in jail for murder, dacoity

A Delhi court has awarded life imprisonment to a Bangladeshi national, who along with other dacoits had killed a man after he resisted their dacoity bid in 2013.

District and Sessions Judge P S Teji handed down the jail term to Badshah, a native of Bangladesh, for killing 32-year- old Animesh Datta, an east Delhi resident, while committing dacoity at his house along with six-seven other youths armed with knives and choppers. His accomplices have not been arrested yet.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 40,000 on him with a direction that the amount be paid to Animesh’s parents, Sumer Datta and Prabha, who had been tied down by the dacoits and were the eye-witnesses to the incident.
