Babri row adjourns Lok Sabha

The Lok Sabha on Thursday was adjourned for the day as Left parties, the BSP and others blamed the UPA government for not acting against those who had lead to the demolition of the Babri Masjid  20 years ago.

The ruckus began as soon as the proceedings began in the morning. The House was first adjourned till noon and again until 2 pm and it was finally adjourned for the day.

BSP MP Asaduddin Owaisi of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen Party and Left members resorted to raising slogans against the government.

The members targeted the government for failing to take action against those who demolished the 16th-century Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh 6 December 1992. In response, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Shiv Sena stood up and raised slogans against these parties.

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar urged the members to let the Question Hour run and promised to let them speak during Zero Hour.
