Awareness ahead of Car-Free Day

In order to encourage people not to use their personal vehicles on ‘Car-Free Day’, Delhi government on Saturday organised an awareness programme on the road stretch between Red Fort and India Gate.

A senior government official said that as many as 400 volunteers, who started awareness drive at 10 am on Saturday, also distributed pamphlets — ‘ Ab Bus <g data-gr-id="11">Karein</g>’ — ‘Car-Free Day’ — to people and requested them to participate in the programme in large numbers. The awareness drive ended at 4 pm which went through several areas — Ballimaran, Matia Mahal and Daryaganj etc — where volunteers encouraged the people to use public transport between Red Fort and India on October 22, the official said.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will also participate in a ‘Cycle Rally’ to be held on the day of ‘Car-Free Day’.
